Rain
14th June 2007
It’s finally started raining again here in Hawaii. Hopefully it’ll continue, as we’ve been in a pretty bad drought.
From a western standpoint, rain is almost considered a bad omen or at least undesirable. Hawaiians actually count it as a blessing. I’m starting to see it that way. Many times the things that I was conditioned to loathe are the things that end up being the biggest blessings.

You were conditioned to loathe the rain? Oh man, I love the rain. Love it. Rain = good book, good music, good wine/coffee (depending on time of day). sigh…me encanta. I do love the sun too…hmmm…guess I’m easily pleased. Aloha Shoshman

For me, rain = I look like a wet poodle (i.e. rain and my hair do NOT agree) - although, I don’t mind getting entirely drenched, or being indoors looking out (it is being out in drizzle or medium rain that gets me) -
As a young adolescent, I was conditioned to loathe my monthly bloodbath. However, being the mature, and classy, young lady that I am today, I consider a normal menstrual cycle a blessing. It means that I can someday bear children, and I can kind of justify eating insane amounts of chocolate once a month. So I know how you feel with the rain. Glad we are on the same page.
Chao amigo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
